Commodores wrap up road matches with 7-0 victory

The Vanderbilt Commodores swept Mississippi State on Sunday as the Commodores wrapped up their road-slate with a 7-0 victory.

The Dores swept the doubles point, with Lauren Mira and Jackie Wu defeating Alexandra Perper and Naomi Tran 8-4, and freshmen Marie Casares and Ashleigh Antal beating Petra Ferancova and Rosaline Dion 8-6. The Bulldogs defaulted on court three for a sweep of the doubles.

In singles, the Commodores swiftly picked up points, winning court six by default and court two with a short 6-1, 6-2 victory for Mira over Olesya Tsigvintseva.

Antal clinched the match for the Dores with her 6-2, 6-4 win over Ferancova, and Radeva and Casares added straight-set victories to the mix. No. 34 Wu picked up a split-set victory over Perper, winning 6-1, 2-6, 6-3.

The win moves the Dores up to 14-8 (6-4) as they return home to host their final regular season match on Saturday next weekend.
