The Vanderbilt men’s tennis team hit the road this weekend for matches at Tennessee this Friday afternoon at 2 p.m. and Sunday at Georgia at noon.

The Commodores jumped up in the rankings after a big win over Auburn this past weekend, moving from the No. 41 team in the ITA rankings to the No. 38 team.

The Dores take on two tough teams, with No. 16 Tennessee and No. 3 Georgia boasting six ranked individuals between them; Mikelis Libietis and Hunter Reese out of Knoxville, and four top-40 players out of Georgia.

Charlie Jones, who has rocketed up the rankings this year with his performances in the No. 1 position, will again lead the team. His teammates Gonzales Austin and Jeff Offerdahl will also be looked to for their help, as both have proven to be solid in their positions this spring. Austin and Jones lead the team in wins with 12-4 duals records.

Vanderbilt heads into the weekend looking to improve their 7-9 (2-4) record.
