VU earns No. 5 seed in NCAA Tourney

Just hours after winning an SEC Tournament title over No. 1 Kentucky, Vanderbilt received a No. 5 seed the East Region of the 2012 NCAA Tournament.

Vanderbilt will play 12th-seeded Harvard in the first round of the tournament at 3:40 p.m. CT Thursday in Albuquerque, N.M. The game will air nationally on TNT.

The winner of the Vanderbilt-Harvard game will face either fourth-seeded Wisconsin or 13th-seeded Montana in the third round. The No. 1 seed in the East Region is Syracuse.

This is Vanderbilt's third straight NCAA Tournament appearance and fifth in the last six seasons.

Vanderbilt has now been selected to 13 NCAA Tournaments, and own a 9-13 all-time record in the Big Dance.
